TPE/TPU is thermoplastic elastomer, which is a plastic material having rubber properties. It is soft but strong, and has an excellent elasticity and stretch recovery. It is an environmental friendly material, recyclable and decomposable, and will not produce toxic chemicals during incineration. Therefore, TPE/TPU film is getting widely used as a substitute for PVC and PTFE.

TPE/TPU film is usually applied in lamination with other materials to enhance performance. Performances to be enhanced include but not limit to appearance, texture, strength, durability, protectiveness, and waterproofness. For example, woven fabrics laminated with TPE/TPU film are waterproof and can be used for outdoor garments. Non-woven fabrics laminated with TPU film become stronger and more durable, and can be used as a modified material.
