Fashion Trends
Peek-a-boo flesh is a fashion favorite this season!
With celebrities by the likes of Ashley Olsen and Miranda Kerr wearing cut-out dresses as a staple past of their daily wardrobe, the mass majority of us indeed are taking to the trend.
Cutout's are quite literally areas of a standard dress which have been removed to reveal a flash of skin.
They are usually small in terms of the area they cover and can be seen on any section of a dress from the back, to the arms, upper chest to stomach or thigh.
While this list may make cut outs can sound to be overly too risqué, it is simply an unexpected way to show some skin this summer .
One of my favourite cut-out versions, is the shoulder cut out.
This classy option allows for ones color bone and neck to be the area of focus, making the wearer, both trendsetting and subtly sensual in terms of the area of their body they wish to highlight.
As the shoulder cutout doesn't show too much cleavage or leave you backless, it's the perfect negotiation between flattering and fashionable.
To work this trend to its full potential, take on these tips:
Brunch: Think white and feminine when opting for a laser cut outfit for the day, this fresh vibe and light colour will showcase your fashion pick to be fabulously day-appropriate (and breathes well in the summer heat too!) Keep the rest of your look clean with minimal or no accessories, that way you wont look over done at all and your cut-out dress can call on all the attention!
Work: Follow To adapt the shoulder cut-out to a work environment look for styles that take on more demure silhouettes. Keep the cut-out minimal and not the focus of your outfit, but instead an little added but subtle extra to your professional appearance. You can wear cut-out to work without breaking your corporate dress code
Cocktail: This particular style was made for cocktail hour so leave you inhibitions at home and go all out lavish with cut-out details! You're best option is to opt for a racy statement piece that allows more more flashes of bare shoulders than one would usually dare by daylight.
For maximum impact, a body-con dress with shoulder cut-out is going to be fashionably jaw-dropping!
