Colbolt Collision

Midi-dresses with lace inserts by Stella McCartney, flirty cropped jackets matched with turtlenecks by Moschino and the close-fitting office-style dresses by Lanvin... The common factor – the colbolt blue inserted into the catwalk trends that the above designers presented this season along side Balenciaga, Dries Van Noten, and Celine to name a few highly recognisable names.

We've seen the sun-kissed tones of yellow, tangerine and fuchsia pink have their time on every foot, bag and ensemble on the previous seasons fashionista – and now things are getting a little cooler – but electrifyingly so!

That bright spark of colbolt blue, with it's hint of peakock and it's neon undertone is very much the colour of the moment.

It plays on royal blue in a way that takes noble to a much more modern level. Just think of Kate and Williams engagement photos and that perfected royal navy that wrapped itself around Kate’s body and which also shone from the Sapphire passed down from the previous Princess, Mum and adored pubic figure, Diana – and then lace that image with the stylishness of colbolt blue and you have a real fashion moment!

Navy has been rumored to be the new black – and colbolt the new navy – swapping colour priority around simply leaves us with classic black and trend setting colbolt!

But just like navy and black, it's an easy colour to wear.

Whether you embrace the beauty trends and apply lashings of bright colbolt mascara to your eye-lashes, framing your eyes with the radiant colour. OR if you wear it in place of a LBD – or your classic black blazer, whichever way you choose the trend remains stationary for the next season – Colbolt blue is a major player and will add that adds essential bourgeois flair to any outfit, from polished trouser suits to semi-transparent blouses.
