US/China: USHSLA and CLIA work on non-compliance contracts
USHSLA (US Hide, Skin and Leather Association) has requested member companies to advise of any Chinese Tanners who had not been honouring higher priced sales contracts and asked for further cases of non-compliance.
Names have been and will continue to be sent to the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) who have promised to investigate.
Both the USHSLA and the CLIA have agreed not to make these lists public, but both organisations have agreed to work together to resolve these issues.
