French consul general in Karachi, Christian Ramage, has the Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA) to arrange the first ever trade delegation from France to visit Pakistan’s leather sector.

The delegation will visit Lahore, Islamabad and Sialkot, as well as Karachi to meet tanners and leathergoods manufacturers. The visit will likely to take place in September 2012.

Pakistan shipped leather and leathergoods with a value of $70 million to France during the most recent financial year (July 2010 to June 2011), an increase of 22% on the previous period.
