China’s leather-sector imports in the first four months of the year has increased by 10% compared to the same period in 2011, according to the authorities.

From January-April 2012, Chinese importers brought footwear, leathergoods and other leather products valued at almost $23.5 billion. Leathergoods contributed most to the total, followed by footwear, luggage, semi-finished, then finished leather.
